The Vanu began experimenting with ways to alter the human body through modification making modification compulsory. The New Conglomerate saw the Vanu's modification programs as an affront to humankind's natural progression and so declared war on the sovereignty.
... ... what makes the New Conglomerate stupid as Hell.
You know it's always a h~uge Sign of Uncertainty and Fear, when someone starts to attack something new he or she can not understand or accept.
It's sad that someone so awesome like the New Conglomerate lower themself to the same Level as the Terran Republic they split from.
What good does it do, to be as intolerant as the T.R.? People should expect the N.C. have learned of "why" they have split from the Terran Republic, instead of acting like the next Tyrants and Bullys after them. ^^ *Sighs*
One could argue that left to their own devices the NC will eventually become as bad or worse then corporations of today's world. Their cry for freedom also means freedom for the corporations that fund the NC war efforts to do whatever the hell they want without any form of regulation. If they do anything unsavory or damaging to the citizens that make up the NC... tough. You end up circling back to the issues that the TR have, a government with no regulation, no checks and balances, no accountability. This also applies to the VS, their pursuit of advancement could have devastating effects on the people involved who may be experimented on willfully. Unregulated science can be just as damaging to the people as unregulated corporations or in TR's case government. The main thing to take away from planet side is that if you took a touch of each empire's philosophy it would likely work out well. If you adopt hardcore rigid beliefs of how things should be chances are your empire will fail and splinter apart into civil war. Moderation is key. I chose to play VS because the idea of an empire striving for a goal of "ascension" is appealing. (Sort of like how it works in the show Stargate where you shed your physical being to become that of one made of energy)
B~ut: There is always one Argument and Reason, 'WHY' the N.C. appeared as such - as a heavy-armed, "Violence-ready/willing" Faction, that IS prepared to hurt or kill thousands of thousands of People - who are just People in the End, in Order to achieve their Goals...
The Reason was: ... ... the 'Terran Republic' sucks to much.
I know, this sounds b~ad now but it is true. It's not just a simple Complain. The T.R. is pretty much a Mix between the Realworld's current North Korea, Russia, America - and China.
And from the "worse" Sides of them, pretty much. In the End, a Nation or/and State is there "for the People" - "NOT" the People are there, for the State! The Blossom of People's Lifes is what is needed for a healthy Mankind - NOT the Blossom of a Regime that condemns and despises the People, stripping them from the Right of truly living Free -> and this with a Dimension and Level of Arrogance, that really only a sick, Human Mind can create.
From this Point, the "Vanu Sovereignty" is the most unnatural, 'unrealistic' Faction ... ... because they seem to have entirely emerged on their own Will - and not because the unbearable Circumstances of authoritarian, dictatorial System have driven them to revolt.
Well, the "T.R. had it coming" ... ... with the N.C... 'If' their most determined, stubborn Enemy on Auraxis would not have been the N.C. - than, not unlikely - another Faction would have shown up, to fight the arrogant Nightmare of a Government, that claims and arrogates themself - to "rule over the whole Mankind" ...
To bad the Lore of Planetside 2 will very likely never "develop" itself - like the Lore and Story of Halo evolves slowly. I would love to see the Terran Republic defeated and humiliated to the very Limits, that would be possible.
THIS is the reason for why I love this game, people take simple thing like factions in a videogame and argue why his ideology is better than the others, this is a sign of a game well done, normaly ill bich about why this argument is stupid but for the reasons abobe i just admire the loyalty for the factions
